Don't let rodents take over your property. Contact an expert animal removal company to secure your home and protect your family today.

Discovering a rodent issue in your home can be incredibly stressful for any property owner. Many people fail to realize how complex and resilient these tiny intruders truly are, often underestimating the scale of the problem. Working with a professional animal removal company is the most efficient way to address these hidden challenges before they escalate. From their shocking physical capabilities to their hidden habits, these pests are perfectly built to thrive in human environments. Expanding your knowledge will allow you to recognize vulnerabilities and take decisive action to protect your home.

          1. Penetrate Incredibly Tiny Spaces

Rodents possess a fascinating skeletal system that enables them to squeeze through remarkably small openings around your property. Their skulls are uniquely flexible, allowing them to compress their entire bodies to slide through gaps that seem impassable. This anatomical adaptation serves as a vital survival mechanism, which is why consulting an experienced animal removal company is beneficial.

Residential structures naturally contain numerous structural vulnerabilities that these small pests can easily exploit to gain entrance. Standard entry points include small spaces around utility pipes, exterior vents, and unsealed doors or windows. Even minor settling cracks in a concrete foundation can provide a perfect pathway for these determined animals to find warmth.

Sealing these structural vulnerabilities requires specific materials that can withstand continuous gnawing attempts from persistent pests. Utilizing heavy-duty items like steel wool mixed with industrial silicone caulk is highly effective because rodents cannot easily chew through them. Upgrading exterior weatherstripping and installing durable vent covers will further minimize opportunities for wildlife to breach your perimeter.

          2. Multiply at Astonishing Rates

These small mammals are incredibly prolific breeders that can establish massive populations within a short timeframe. A single female can produce multiple litters throughout a single year, with each group containing several vulnerable offspring. This rapid reproductive cycle allows a minor nuisance to spiral into a severe problem if the situation is left completely unaddressed.

The developmental timeline from a newborn pup to a fully mature adult happens with incredible speed. Young rodents grow rapidly, becoming completely independent and capable of reproducing themselves in a matter of weeks. This continuous cycle creates an overlapping generational structure within walls, compounding the difficulty of total eradication without professional intervention.

Environmental conditions play a major role in accelerating or decelerating the reproductive success of these invasive animals. Environments that provide abundant food supplies, stable indoor temperatures, and protection from natural predators will naturally experience population booms. When populations grow too rapidly for standard traps, hiring an animal removal company becomes essential to restore safety.

          3. Spread Dangerous Health Risks

Carrying hazardous pathogens is one of the most concerning aspects of allowing these pests to remain inside a home. They act as vectors for various serious conditions, shedding harmful bacteria and viruses through their daily biological waste products. Contact with their droppings, urine, or nesting materials can lead to direct contamination of your indoor air.

Beyond standard contamination from droppings, these rodents can cause direct physical harm to unsuspecting homeowners. According to the Centers for Disease Control reveals that emergency rooms provide medical treatment to more than 9,000 individuals annually due to direct bites from rats or mice. Reaching out to a qualified animal removal company ensures that these dangerous situations are handled safely without risking personal injury.

Detecting the subtle indicators of biological contamination early can prevent serious health hazards from spreading throughout your household. Common signs include small, dark droppings scattered along baseboards, distinctive gnaw marks on food packaging, and shredded insulation. Homeowners might also notice a strange, heavy odor permeating enclosed areas like pantries, crawlspaces, or utility closets.

          4. Evade Traditional Capture Methods

Being predominantly nocturnal creatures means that these pests conduct the majority of their foraging under the cover of total darkness. This behavioral pattern allows them to move around your kitchen and living areas completely undetected by human residents. Their nighttime routines make it exceptionally difficult for homeowners to track specific movements or accurately estimate numbers.

These clever animals possess incredibly sharp senses of smell and hearing that help them navigate surroundings and avoid danger. They are naturally suspicious of new items placed in their environment, a trait that often causes them to avoid standard snap traps entirely. Overcoming their sharp instincts requires strategic trap placement and high-quality baits.

Communication among these pests relies heavily on intricate vocalizations and chemical scent markers left behind on common pathways. These pheromones signal safety, identify food sources, and coordinate group movements behind walls and underneath floorboards. An experienced animal removal company knows how to decode these behavioral patterns to deploy highly effective eradication strategies for residents.

          5. Cause Costly Property Damage

Ongoing structural destruction is a major consequence of allowing a rodent population to thrive inside an attic or crawlspace. Because their teeth grow continuously, these animals must chew on hard surfaces to keep them filed down. They regularly destroy expensive insulation, chew through wooden supports, and compromise the overall integrity of your interior drywall.

Beyond structural wood and insulation, these pests pose a severe fire hazard by targeting the electrical wiring hidden inside walls. Chewed wires can easily spark, leading to catastrophic house fires that put your entire family at risk. An animal removal company can thoroughly assess hidden areas of your home to identify and mitigate these hazards.

Food storage areas face significant economic threats from contamination, forcing families to discard expensive groceries and pantry staples. When these pests chew through cardboard boxes and plastic bags, they ruin entire batches of food with waste. This constant waste adds up quickly, impacting household budgets and causing significant stress for the residents.

          6. Deploy Modern Control Solutions

The field of wildlife management has evolved significantly, introducing innovative trap designs that offer highly efficient results. Modern solutions include electronic monitoring devices that deliver swift elimination and smart traps that send immediate alerts to users. These technological advancements eliminate the need for dangerous chemical poisons, creating a safer environment for your family.

Integrating smart home technology into your overall pest defense strategy offers continuous monitoring and peace of mind. Connected motion sensors and automated deterrent systems can track rodent activity in real time, pinpointing exactly where the animals travel. Embracing these high-tech tools ensures that your home remains protected against future invasions through data-driven security.

Eco-friendly and humane management practices are becoming increasingly popular among homeowners who value sustainable and ethical solutions. Options like specialized ultrasonic repellents and live-capture relocation traps focus on excluding wildlife rather than relying on lethal methods. Partnering with a professional animal removal company allows you to customize an eco-conscious plan that matches your specific values.

Common Animals That Can Cause You Trouble

Partner with an animal removal company to prevent minor wildlife issues from causing costly structural damage, health hazards, and seasonal disruptions.

Animals are an important part of any environment, but certain species can become disruptive when they move too close to residential or commercial spaces. Understanding how and why these animals create issues helps property owners respond more effectively and reduce long-term risks. In many cases, early awareness and support from an animal removal company can prevent minor concerns from turning into costly damage or health hazards.

The goal is not elimination of wildlife but better control and safer coexistence. With growing urban expansion, these interactions are becoming more frequent and require practical, informed management approaches. Property owners also benefit from recognizing seasonal patterns, since many animals become more active during specific times of the year when food and shelter demands increase.

          Managing Squirrels

Squirrels are often underestimated, yet they can create significant problems when they enter homes or landscaped areas. They commonly chew through wood, insulation, and wiring, which increases fire risks and repair costs over time. In some cases, homeowners rely on an animal removal company to safely identify entry points and prevent recurring infestations. Gardens are also vulnerable, as squirrels dig up plants and consume fruits before they are fully mature. Their activity may seem minor at first, but it often escalates quickly when nesting begins inside attics or wall spaces. Prevention is typically more effective than dealing with established populations.

Squirrels can also adapt easily to suburban environments, which makes them difficult to deter once they have identified a reliable food source. This adaptability is one reason professionals are often called in for long-term solutions. Property owners who delay intervention usually face more extensive damage and higher repair costs. In many cases, early inspection of rooflines, vents, and siding gaps can significantly reduce the likelihood of infestation. Even small openings can quickly become entry points when food and shelter are readily available.

          Handling Raccoons

Raccoons are highly intelligent animals that frequently enter residential areas in search of food and shelter. Their ability to open containers and access rooftops makes them a persistent issue for homeowners. Many situations escalate to the point where an animal removal company is needed to safely remove them from attics or crawl spaces. Beyond structural damage, raccoons can also create sanitation problems due to waste accumulation in enclosed areas.

They are also known carriers of diseases, which increases the risk of close contact. Because they are nocturnal, most damage occurs unnoticed until it becomes severe. Secure waste management and home sealing are essential first steps in reducing attraction. Once raccoons establish nesting sites, removal becomes more complex and requires careful handling to avoid repeat entry. Ongoing monitoring after removal is often necessary to ensure they do not return to previously accessed spaces.

          Controlling Skunks

Skunks are commonly associated with odor issues, but their impact extends beyond their defensive spray. They often dig through lawns in search of insects, leaving behind uneven ground and damaged landscaping. In many residential cases, an animal removal company is contacted to address repeated nighttime activity and prevent future visits. Their presence can also create stress for pet owners, especially when encounters happen unexpectedly.

Skunks are generally non-aggressive unless threatened, but their spray can cause significant discomfort for both humans and animals. They may also shelter under decks, sheds, or porches, where they remain hidden for long periods. Reducing food sources and sealing entry points are key steps in prevention. Once they settle in, removal must be handled carefully to avoid triggering defensive behavior. Property owners often underestimate how quickly a single skunk can establish a consistent denning site if conditions are favorable.

          Managing Pigeons

Pigeons are one of the most common urban wildlife challenges due to their ability to thrive around buildings and public spaces. Their droppings are acidic and can damage rooftops, signage, and structural surfaces over time. In commercial environments, an animal removal company is often used to manage large flocks and install deterrent systems. Their nesting habits also contribute to clogged drainage systems and unsanitary conditions.

Pigeons can carry pathogens that affect respiratory health when droppings accumulate in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas. Businesses often face recurring cleanup costs if populations are not controlled early. Physical deterrents such as netting and spikes are commonly used to limit roosting. Long-term management focuses on reducing food access and nesting opportunities. Even small roosting areas can quickly expand into larger colony sites if left unaddressed.

          Handling Snakes

Snakes typically enter properties in search of food, shelter, or cooler environments during warm seasons. While many species are harmless, their presence often creates fear and uncertainty for homeowners. In some cases, an animal removal company is required to safely identify and relocate snakes without causing harm. The risk increases when snakes enter basements, garages, or garden areas where visibility is limited.

Preventing snake activity usually involves controlling rodent populations and sealing foundation gaps. Pets are particularly vulnerable during outdoor activity, making supervision essential in higher-risk areas. Because snakes play an important ecological role, removal focuses on safe relocation rather than elimination. Proper identification is key before any action is taken. Regular yard maintenance can also significantly reduce hiding spots and reduce overall encounters.

          Managing Coyotes

Coyotes have become increasingly common in suburban and urban regions, adapting quickly to human environments. They may target small pets or livestock, which creates ongoing concerns for homeowners and farmers. In some cases, an animal removal company is involved to assess patterns of activity and recommend deterrent strategies. These animals are highly adaptable and often travel through residential corridors in search of food.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Wildlife Services received $109.2 million to manage damage caused by wildlife, highlighting the scale of wildlife-related challenges across the country. This funding supports programs that help reduce conflicts between humans and animals, including coyote-related incidents. Coyotes are also known to spread disease, making monitoring efforts important for public safety. Prevention typically focuses on securing food waste and protecting outdoor spaces. Community-wide cooperation is often necessary since coyotes do not respond to isolated prevention efforts.

          Managing Bats

Bats are beneficial for insect control but can become problematic when they roost inside homes or buildings. Their droppings, known as guano, can accumulate quickly and create odor and sanitation concerns. When colonies form indoors, a removal company is often needed to safely exclude them without harming the population. Because bats are protected in many regions, removal must follow regulated procedures.

Entry points are usually found in roof gaps, vents, or attic spaces. Once established, colonies can grow rapidly, making early detection important. Health concerns arise when guano builds up in enclosed areas, potentially affecting air quality. Proper exclusion methods ensure bats are redirected outdoors without encouraging reentry. Timing is also critical since removal strategies often depend on seasonal behavior patterns.

Common wildlife challenges often emerge gradually, but they can escalate into serious property and health concerns without proper management. Recognizing early signs of activity and taking preventive steps reduces long-term risks and costs. In many situations, working with a professional

Why Is It Important to Hire Local Animal Removal Services?

Protect your property with expert local animal removal services. Our technicians provide fast, legal, and humane wildlife extraction for your neighborhood.

When a wild animal enters your home or business, the situation requires immediate and professional attention. Identifying how pests enter a structure is the first step in a successful extraction and repair process. By prioritizing local animal removal services, property owners can address wildlife conflicts with greater efficiency and precision. This approach means that the specific animals in your area are handled according to their unique habits.

          Understanding Regional Wildlife Behavior

Wildlife patterns vary significantly from one county to another based on local climate and available food sources. Raccoons and squirrels adapt their nesting cycles to the specific peak foliage and temperature drops within a particular county. This technical insight allows for the accurate identification of maternal dens versus temporary shelters during the colder months of the year. Knowing the difference between a mother with babies and a solitary male changes the entire removal strategy.

Technicians are familiar with the specific migratory patterns and hibernation cycles of the animals in your immediate area. This localized knowledge allows them to predict animal movements and implement strategies that are tailored to the environment surrounding your specific property. Understanding these movement corridors is the primary factor in determining the correct placement for humane trapping equipment. Setting a trap in the wrong spot can result in catching the wrong animal or missing the target altogether.

Changes in the local landscape often force animals to find new territories within residential zones. This insight is a primary reason why many property owners seek out local animal removal services to handle sensitive wildlife encounters. A thorough biological assessment explains the specific ecological factors that attracted animals to your particular yard in the first place. Removing the attraction is just as important as removing the animal itself to prevent a repeat occurrence.

          Identifying Local Property Vulnerabilities

Every region has unique building codes and common construction materials that dictate how animals gain entry. Structural weaknesses often develop in specific areas like roof returns or construction gaps near the foundation. Understanding architectural trends allows experts to inspect the most likely points of failure with incredible speed. These professionals look for teeth marks and fur oil that reveal exactly where the animal is squeezing inside.

Using local animal removal services provides the advantage of a team that has likely serviced dozens of homes with the same floor plan as yours. Common gaps in local masonry or the typical height of crawl spaces provide predictable access points for rodents and larger mammals. This familiarity allows them to pinpoint entry points that a generalist might overlook during a standard inspection. They often find hidden entries in corners that are difficult for a typical homeowner to see.

Overhanging branches or dense ground cover act as natural bridges for pests to reach the structure. By focusing on the structural nuances of the community, technicians provide a level of thoroughness that is only possible through years of experience. They can advise you on how your specific garden layout might be inviting unwanted guests into your crawl space. Simple changes to your bushes can make it much harder for a squirrel to reach your gutters.

          Adhering to Specific Area Regulations

Wildlife management is governed by a complex web of state and municipal laws that vary widely across different jurisdictions. Professionals operating in your area stay updated on the specific permits and legal requirements for handling protected species in your town. Following these guidelines prevents the accidental violation of environmental protections that are unique to your specific county. You do not want to face legal trouble for moving an animal that is protected by local laws.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the United States employs around 11,490 animal control workers. While this workforce is substantial, the legalities they navigate are highly localized. Hiring local animal removal services helps you avoid the legal pitfalls of accidentally violating a municipal ordinance regarding the relocation or treatment of specific wildlife. Different cities have different rules on how far an animal must be moved from your property.

Experts know the current health alerts for the region, such as recent outbreaks of rabies or distemper among the local population. This knowledge keeps the community safe while following the ethical and legal frameworks established by your local government. Proper documentation is a requirement for the legal transport and release of any captured species. Staying within the law makes certain the animal is treated humanely while your home is kept secure.

          Responding With Greater Tactical Speed

Timing is everything when an aggressive or frightened animal is trapped inside a living space. Damage to insulation and electrical wiring increases the longer an animal remains inside the attic or walls. Minimized travel time means that the professional can begin the extraction process before the animal manages to chew through the wiring. A fast response can be the difference between a simple patch and a major electrical repair job.

Choosing local animal removal services means the technicians spend less time in traffic and more time solving your problem. They are available to check traps frequently and can return quickly if the situation changes unexpectedly. This proximity is vital during emergency scenarios where an animal poses an immediate threat to the safety of the household. If an animal gets into your kitchen, you need someone who can arrive in minutes rather than hours.

Quick action also limits the accumulation of biological waste and odors within the structure. The faster the professional arrives, the sooner the cleanup and sanitation process can begin. Short travel distances allow for more flexible scheduling and a higher level of availability for follow-up visits, making local animal removal services the most practical choice. Getting the mess out of the house quickly stops smells from soaking into your furniture and carpet.

          Managing Post Removal Decontamination

Effective wildlife control requires a complete restoration of the impacted area to prevent the spread of diseases. Accumulations of nesting materials harbor parasites and bacteria that remain active long after the animal is gone. Targeted sanitation makes certain that the attic or crawl space is returned to a state that is safe for the residents. Skipping this step can lead to long-term health issues for everyone living under your roof.

The removal of nesting material also eliminates the scent markers used by other animals to identify territory. Working with professionals makes certain that pheromones are completely neutralized rather than just masked by sprays. Technicians understand the long-term health risks associated with improper wildlife sanitation and focus on thorough decontamination. If the scent remains, a new animal will likely try to break in through the same hole.

The restoration phase includes installing permanent barriers like heavy-gauge screening or specialized metal flashing. These installations are designed to resist the specific chewing and clawing force of native predators and rodents. Utilizing these professional methods makes certain that the materials used are durable enough to withstand the specific weather and wildlife pressures found in your neighborhood. A strong barrier is your best defense against future unwanted visitors.

Assessing the company’s past projects can significantly impact your decision-making process. A company with a history of successfully resolving similar issues is likely to handle your situation adeptly. Request detailed examples of previous jobs, focusing on both successes and challenges. This transparency will help you gauge their problem-solving skills and adaptability in unforeseen circumstances. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, homes with sloping or buckling walls are over five times more likely to see a rodent than homes with stable walls—knowing if they have handled such environments can be critical.

  2. What Methods Do You Use for Removal and Control?

The methods employed for animal removal and control should prioritize humane treatment. A company dedicated to ethical practice will detail their techniques, ensuring minimal distress and harm to the animals involved. Humane handling aligns with broader wildlife conservation goals, and respecting these principles demonstrates the company's commitment to ethical standards. Inquiry into their approach can also reveal their dedication to following legal regulations and guidelines. Additionally, ethical methods often correlate with more sustainable solutions, reducing the chances of recurrence.

Understanding the company’s specific use of traps and baits is crucial for assessing their approach to animal capture. Inquire about the types of traps used, such as live traps, and their strategies for managing caught animals. It is also important to know if they use any toxic substances and how they ensure the safety of non-target species. An ethical company will use traps and baits responsibly, preferring non-lethal solutions whenever possible. Comprehensive knowledge of these methods allows you to ensure they align with your personal values and the legal stipulations of your area.

  3. Are You Licensed and Insured?

A legitimate animal removal company must comply with the necessary licensing requirements in their area of operation. Confirm that they meet all state and local regulatory conditions, which can vary widely depending on jurisdiction. Proper licensing demonstrates the company's adherence to the legal standards governing animal control and ensures they are qualified to perform such tasks. Comparing their credentials with the demands of your specific locality can verify their lawful standing. This step is crucial for ensuring you're working with a professional and authorized service provider.

Insurance is a critical factor when evaluating an animal removal company to protect yourself from potential liabilities. Thoroughly assess what their insurance policy covers, focusing on both property and personal injury. A responsible company will have comprehensive coverage, safeguarding both their employees and clients. This inclusion is important to prevent unexpected costs arising from accidents or damages during the removal process. Always verify their insurance status before engagement to avoid potential legal and financial complications.

  4. What is the Cost of Your Services?

Understanding the cost of services involves more than just asking for a quotation; you should request a comprehensive breakdown of the pricing structure. This transparency reveals how the company allocates costs for labor, materials, and other charges. Each animal type and situation may involve different resources, impacting the overall cost. A clear pricing estimate helps identify any areas that might incur additional charges, such as emergency call-outs or specialized equipment. Clarifying these aspects ensures you are prepared for the financial commitment involved.

Different animals pose varying challenges, which can affect the complexity and cost of removal services. Inquire about how the company assesses each scenario and the factors influencing their pricing, such as the severity of the infestation or the species involved. For instance, handling larger or more aggressive animals can demand specialized equipment or expertise, thereby increasing costs. Comprehensive awareness of these factors aids in understanding the pricing rationale. Anticipating these variables helps you gauge whether the service is reasonably priced in relation to their expertise and resources.

  5. How Do You Ensure the Problem Doesn’t Reoccur?

Long-term solutions should be a priority to prevent animal issues from recurring. A professional company will recommend or implement strategies that address not only the immediate problem but also conditions that contribute to infestations. This can include structural alterations, environmental adjustments, or behavioral changes in household management. For instance, sealing potential entry points can deter future intrusions. Through comprehensive prevention measures, they help safeguard your property against recurrent issues.

Effective animal removal goes beyond elimination; it includes proactive prevention strategies. Query the company’s approach to implementing exclusion techniques or other preventive measures that protect against future invasions. Techniques like habitat modification or exclusion barriers can offer robust defenses against repeat occurrences. Understanding the specifics of these solutions demonstrates their commitment to resolving the root cause of the problem. Confirming the comprehensiveness of these measures ensures you’re investing in a lasting resolution.

  6. What Safety Protocols Do You Follow?

Safety must be paramount, involving both the property owners and their pets. Confirming the company’s safety protocols ensures that their processes do not pose risks to anyone on-site. Inquire about their strategies to safeguard non-targeted species and vulnerable household members during removal. Companies should outline specific measures, such as toxin-free approaches or careful handling of traps. Knowing that they prioritize safety reduces potential hazards associated with wildlife removal.

Professional wildlife control companies should have clear guidelines on how to handle animals humanely. Confirm that their procedures adhere to legal and ethical standards for wildlife management. Guidelines should include avoidance of stress or harm to the animals handled. This adherence highlights their commitment to humane and respectful treatment of wildlife. It also reflects their alignment with conservation efforts, which you, as a responsible client, should support.

Pest control isn’t limited to ants, roaches, and mice. There are many different types of pests that can become a nuisance to your property. This can include insects, rodents, and larger wildlife. A wildlife removal specialist can help you with issues or problems involving larger types of wildlife. It’s always a good idea to call in the professionals if you have issues with animals at home. Here are a few things you should know about wildlife removal.

  1. It's Crucial to Work With a Wildlife Removal Specialist

The first thing you need to know is that these specialists are trained professionals who are skilled in safe and effective removal techniques. The most common way that these specialists remove animals from your property is through trapping. Most forms of wildlife must be trapped and released in an appropriate area. There are often regulations on larger animals, so this type of pest service is vastly different from insect or rodent removal. There are generally no regulations on insect and rodent extermination.

  2. Permits Are Often Required

Another thing you should know is that wildlife removal specialists will obtain the necessary permits to legally handle, remove, and release various types of wildlife. There are many laws in your area that regulate the treatment of animals. If you aren’t an expert on these laws, you could get in a lot of trouble if you attempt to remove animals yourself. The safest route is to call in professionals to help you with this task.

  3. Some Animals Have Strict Regulations

You should also be aware that some animals have stricter regulations than others. Snakes are a good example. Most municipalities require that you contact local animal control or wildlife departments so that a professional can handle the animal. This is required for a few different reasons. First, it protects citizens from getting dangerous snake bites from venomous snakes, and second, it helps to protect non-venomous snakes from getting killed in large numbers. Non-venomous snakes are a crucial part of an area’s ecosystem and shouldn’t be killed.

There are steps you can take to help discourage pests from your property, though. According to Pestworld.org, you can keep your tree limbs cut back six to eight feet from your home to prevent squirrels from entering. These are just a few things you should know about wildlife removal. If you’re looking for a

According to the National Pest Management Association, over one-third of Americans have had a rodent or larger animal in their home in the past year. Some homeowners hesitate to call about an animal issue because they just aren’t sure who to contact. A wildlife removal company can help with many types of animals. Let’s look at some common animals our own wildlife removal company has experience handling.

Raccoons can easily become a pest if they start hanging around your home. Raccoons can carry diseases or parasites that can affect humans and other animals, so they should be removed from your property quickly. They also tend to get into bird feeders, any outside food, trash, and dumpsters, which can cause a mess and lead to other pests. In addition to this, raccoons can also get brazen enough to make a home on your property under decks and outbuildings, and they can break into your home, which can put you or your pets in danger. Our wildlife removal company is experienced in the process of trapping and removing your trespassing raccoon.

In Michigan, there are six types of squirrels, and they all have the potential to cause issues if allowed to get comfortable being close to your home via outside bird feeders or other food sources. Squirrels can cause a lot of trouble for your home or car because they have the potential to chew on wires since the coating is made with peanut oil. Squirrels can be aggressive toward pets and destructive of bird feeders, and they can also chew into your home or outbuildings.

Although these animals are often non-aggressive, they can put you and your family at risk of parasites and disease. Opossums have sharp claws that can be used on pets if there is an encounter. They also often steal food and can make their way inside your garage or home.

Bats are a potential carrier of rabies and pose a threat to you, your family, and pets on the property. Bats can cause structural problems because they leave acidic droppings, which can eat through building materials. The guano from bats has the potential to contain histoplasmosis, which is a fungus. Bats typically do not chew into structures, but they do go through very small existing openings.

When you think of skunks, it's more than likely that you think of their smelly spray or their digging in your yard. Did you know they play an important role in insect control? They are omnivores, so they mostly eat insects, berries, and plants, and they will dig up ground-nesting bees to eat the larvae. They also eat mice, snakes, toads, and other small prey they can find. Skunks will take advantage of free food such as bird feeders, food left outside for feral animals, garbage cans, and compost. They will also dig in your yard for grubs. In the event you have a spray happen, we suggest the following mixture to treat the area.

In an open container mix 1/3 cup baking soda, a fresh 1-quart bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide, and 2-3 tablespoons of liquid dish detergent. Do not put this mixture in a closed container; it will build up pressure and burst. If you need to treat the eyes, ears, nose, or mouth of a person or animal, do not use this mixture. Use white vinegar. It may take more applications, but it will not cause irritation to those areas of the body like the other mix will. When in doubt, use white vinegar to treat something sprayed by a skunk. It may take many applications.

Keeping your home free of wildlife is an important part of home maintenance that can’t be ignored. Finding a quality wildlife control company can feel daunting, though. If you’re in need of a specialty service, such as wildlife removal, then you need to consider your options carefully. Let’s look at a few tips for choosing a quality wildlife control company.

  Consider the Experience

we just think of your basic types of wildlife. Although, in some cases, you might find that you need a wildlife control expert with special experience. A wildlife control specialist can assist you with getting rid of specific animals on your property or in your home that are a pest. If you’re dealing with a certain type of animal, then be sure to find a wildlife removal company that has dealt with that specific problem before.

  Ask Friends and Family

You should ask your friends and family members who they recommend for wildlife removal. Word of mouth is still one of the best types of advertisement around. Your friends and family will be glad to tell you who they recommend and who they don’t.

  Read Reviews

Whenever you need to hire a professional team for your home, you need to read plenty of reviews beforehand. External reviews, those not posted on a company's site, will give you an objective opinion of the company. You can read reviews on Google, Yelp, or Facebook.

  Compare Companies

If time allows, then you should take some time to compare a few different companies and the estimates they give you. Beware of a company that doesn't want to give you an upfront estimate for their services. When you compare companies and estimates, it can help you find the right one.

Before you bring a professional into your home, you need to ask plenty of questions. Make sure you ask if they have the appropriate credentials and insurance, what experience they have, and how long have they been in business. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

are a crucial part of keeping your property safe and pest-free all year round. When you have pests in your home, they have a way of forcing you to conform your life around their needs by invading spaces all around your home.

How to avoid Wildlife invading your home

Animals that choose to enter your home are doing it because it's warm in the winter or cool in the summer. They're trying to get away from the elements and find some food. Animals that are just trying to get out of the elements, while they're certainly annoying and disruptive, aren't intending to be disruptive or destructive. They just need to get out of the cold or the heat. Some ways to not invite them to you home are:

Do not feed animals or birds outside. If you want to feed birds put the feeders far away from your home. If you feed stray cats only have the food and water out to feed them with you there and then pick it all up before you leave.

Keep trees trimmed back and bushes trimmed so animals cant use them to gain access to your home.

Keep your garbage in a closed container you can lock shut.

Don't keep doors and garage doors open because animals will take advantage of that.

It's up to us to not inadvertently cause the problem by giving them a food source. If you have done everything to keep them away and they still are a problem call Aaron's Nuisance Animal Control today to get started.
